Farm Tours & Events
June 24, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Farm tour of our working homestead, including pigs, cows, goats, chickens, ducks, orchard, and gardens. There is always something interesting happening on the farm, no matter the season!
Your tour will include:
- Goat milking demonstration
- Chicken life cycle demonstration
- Animal petting (chickens, goats, dogs)
- Seed planting (to take home)*
*Plant your choice of seeds to take home in a small pot. In spring, choose from a variety of annual flowers like zinnias and sunflowers or our homegrown loofah gourd vines (do not choose loofah seeds unless you can provide support for this climbing vine: it requires a fence or trellis). Later in the season, other options will be provided.
PICNIC LUNCH: You are welcome to bring sack lunches and picnic at the farm, weather permitting, with a cutoff time of 1:00. We do not have picnic tables but you are welcome to bring a blanket or chairs. We do have playground equipment that your children may use after the tour, during the picnic hour. (Trampoline is off-limits for farm tours, thanks for understanding!)
WHAT TO WEAR: Please dress for the weather.
It will probably feel colder on our farm than it feels in your backyard, especially in spring or fall. Our farm gets significant wind and even the slightest bit of wind can make it feel much colder. It’s always better to bring extra layers and not need them than to come underdressed and feel miserable.
In the heat, bring hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, plenty of water, etc.
Wear boots if possible or old shoes at a minimum. Our farm can get muddy, plus there’s a high likelihood you’ll step in animal manure of some kind.
START TIME: We start promptly at 10 am. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to start of tour, we will not wait for late-comers.
FARM STAND: Shop our farm stand and take home locally grown chicken eggs, duck eggs, loofah sponges, nature-themed notecards (hand illustrated by our son) and more.
TICKET SALES: All ticket sales are final. Tours are rain or shine, NO REFUNDS. Your invoice is your ticket, we do not mail paper tickets.
- $12/person (ages 3 & up)
- $60/family (6-7 members)
- Ages 2 and under are free.
PLEASE NOTE: We do require a minimum number of guests in order to proceed with this event. If the event is postponed due to low ticket sales, you will receive credit towards a future farm tour.
If food-growing, local farms, and regenerative agriculture are important to you, please help us spread the word! Tell your friends, neighbors, school groups, etc. so we can pack this tour and continue offering more tour dates in the future. Can’t wait to see you on the farm!
